Today is an all-caps BIG DAY — I am thrilled to announce that Seamly has been acquired and the brand will carry on with new styles and content!
This major transition has been a long time coming. Last fall, I announced that I wanted to pursue other interests outside of Seamly. Since then, Allie Olson (who you may know as the founder of Indiesew
) acquired the brand, and has been working with our sewists in Denver to create new styles.
I know I'm leaving Seamly in qualified, caring hands. Allie and I met many years ago in Boulder as we were building Indiesew and Seamly respectively. We spent hours swapping tips on deadstock fabric suppliers and discussing sustainability and made-in-the-USA. She believes that the act of sewing is a big part of understanding where our clothes come from, and has created an incredible community of modern home sewists at Indiesew. She's diligent about the things that matter — quality, fit, durability, sustainability. I am over-the-moon excited to see what she does with Seamly!
Signing off with a huge WELCOME and congratulations to Allie — and sending everyone else love and gratitude from Los Angeles, where I'll continue to be Seamly's #1 fan forever.
